Pataki Announcement Speech
The text of Governor Pataki's speech to announce that he will not seek a fourth term is available here. I watched on local news as he spoke, and I have to say, it was probably the best speech I've heard him give in the ten years he's been governor. If I can find a video link I'll add it.

Nothing particularly surprising. Back in October a source told me that Pataki is only eyeing the White House, or the Senate seat if Clinton looked weak. Since Clinton is looking unbeatable, Pataki has no reason to run for anything until 2008
