'With Friends Like These' Watch

Another site I came across recently. Sponsored by the National Federation of Republican Assemblies, which calls itself "the oldest and largest Republican volunteer organization", and "the Republican wing of the Republican Party", this site is the headquarters of what the group calls its "RINO Hunters Club". For a dollar a day, the site notes, "you can become an official RINO Hunter", and "[work] to prevent liberal Republicans from receiving the GOP nomination to offices throughout the nation." Donors are promised an e-newsletter "in which inside information about our efforts to expose RINO's [sic] will be brought to your attention throughout the year."

At least to my knowledge, this group is not affiliated with the national Republican Party, although they do feature an endorsement from Senator Tom Coburn on their front page. But it sure is delightful, isn't it, to know that there are folks out there who make purging the GOP of its moderates their top priority?

Makes me happy to be a member of the "Reasonable wing" of the Republican Party.
