File Under O for Overkill

Via PoliticalWire, it seems that perennial Tennessee candidate John Jay Hooker, 75, will not only challenge incumbent Democratic governor Phil Bredesen in a gubernatorial primary next year, but also plans to run as an independent in 2006 for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by the retiring Bill Frist.

Seems a bit much, but talk about covering your bases. It's almost a shame Hooker's got only a slightly better shot at winning either race than I do ...
