Mooselings on Tolerating Bull

Marshall Wittman's pseudonymous guest-bloggers at The Bull Moose these days, The Mooselings, have a good post tonight on their tolerance for and their ability to detect what they decently call bull. "Tell us what you really mean, they say. Enough with the semantics, they protest. Talk is cheap, get on with it. With the current administration and its ongoing mismanagement of the situation in Iraq, the Mooselings' high standards and keen bull-detection abilities have been stressed as never before."

The post notes that the bull coming out of Administration over Iraq has been at times "disappointing but amusing and absurd" ("Mission Accomplished," GWOT v. GSAVE); sometimes sad (
"Bush, who got elected by embracing the mantle of compassionate conservatism, has long abandoned compassion not only in his policies, but also in one of his most solemn duties, consoling the families of the fallen"), and sometimes revealing:

"
More often than not though, the indifferent lip service and genuine-seeming talk reveals a disregard for the facts on the ground and a disrespect for those making the real sacrifices," the Mooselings write, nothing a report from USA Today in which a colonel on the ground in Iraq said he could certainly use more troops, and the Pentagon batted down the request.

The post concludes with this: "
Our nation continues to pay a horrible price for its failure to secure Iraq. Despite President Bush's aggressive language about finishing the job we started there, the administration continues to show that its much better at offering top-quality bull than actually getting serious about winning the peace and protecting our soldiers."

I agree. Let's have it straight, President Bush. The RINO joins the Mooselings in calling for an Administration-wide bull eradication campaign.

Don't hold your breath waiting for "straight talk". This administration has done everything to show itself as "winning the battle", and "staying the course"; and never admitting losses--as shown by unwillingness to admit photos of returning KIA, etc. They claim that if the "generals ask for more troops, they'll have them" Sadly, we know all of it has been lies, and it doesn't look like it's going to change!!

Agreed, Phil. But that doesn't mean we should give up. We can't do that.
