More from Alaska

I promised to update if and when I got more news from the McCain-Clinton-Graham-Collins trip to the far north to observe the effects of climate change - the AP now has an article out on the senators' Alaska leg. The quotes are similar to yesterday's, but I would note this new one from McCain, in which he (for the first time that I can recall, although that doesn't mean it's the first time) compares efforts to take action against global warming to the campaign finance reform movement. "'It's coming up from the bottom. It's the special interests vs. the people's interests and I still have enough confidence in our system of government that the people's interest will ultimately prevail."

Also, from Senator Clinton, a shot across the bow of those who continue to deny the existence of climate change: she says they're living in an "evidence-free zone." "You just keep saying something no matter how untrue and unfactual it might be, over and over and over again, and try to drive the politics to meet your ideological or commercial agenda. That is a grave disservice to our country."
