Good Read

Obviously today's big news is not only the continued struggles to deal with Hurricane Katrina (I'm currently watching the Army Corps work on repairing the levee breaches, and Bush is once again in the region), but also the very-much-changed debate over the Supreme Court. In the midst of all this I'm trying to catch up on some reading, which includes the New York Times Magazine from yesterday. Daniel Smith's piece, "Political Science," is a good look at the Bush Administration's views of science, its uses in policymaking in recent years, and a focus on Bush's science advisor. I recommend it.
