Sunday Show Guests

Tomorrow's shows will be given over - and rightly so - to coverage of Hurricane Katrina's aftermath. We will not be hearing about the upcoming Roberts confirmation hearings, an incredibly mistimed effort by the GOP leadership in the Senate to force a permanent repeal of the estate tax, or about the resumed debate over stem cells once Congress returns this week. There will be time enough for all those things. Here are the lineups:

Meet the Press (NBC): Homeland Security Secretary Mike Chertoff makes his first of at least four appearances with Russert; he'll be joined by so-far-unnamed "state and local officials" (I'll update once those names come through). Other guests will be Scientific American reporter Mark Fischetti, former New Orleans mayor Mark Morial, author Mike Tidwell, and David Wessel of the Wall Street Journal.

Fox News Sunday: Chertoff will be here too, and is the only guest listed so far. The panel will be host Chris Wallace, joined by Brit Hume, Bill Kristol, and Juan Williams.

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos is scheduled to take a helicopter tour of the devastated Louisiana coastline with Senator Mary Landrieu. Chertoff will be on here as well.

Late Edition (CNN): Indeed, Chertoff headlines here too. Wolf has collected a typical lineup of several hundred guests; some of them include Senator Trent Lott, Reps. Bobby Jindal, William Jefferson, Richard Baker, Charlie Melancon. Reverand Al Sharpton will also appear, as will former senator John Breaux and former surgeon general David Satcher. Also CDC Director Julie Gerberding, Red Cross president Marty Evans, and Washington Post media critic Howie Kurtz.

Face the Nation (CBS): Lineup to come. If I had to guess, I'd put my money on Chertoff.

[Update: Chertoff will indeed try to pull off the very rare five-way appearance tomorrow by appearing on "Face the Nation." Schieffer will also speak with LA Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, Rep. William Jefferson, and MS Gov. Haley Barbour.]
