Federalist on Favoritism

As Alan recommends below, I did read Randy Barnett's piece from today's WSJ on cronyism in executive appointments. It is a well-done piece, I recommend it too. As I've been saying, I'm really torn here. I want to oppose Miers on the basic grounds that she's not the most qualified for the position. But I fear what the alternative might be. So, I will continue to wait and see.
