House Passes Weak Lobby Reform Bill

This bill should have been much stronger. Ethics training and more disclosure are not the only answers. The moment to pass strong lobbying/earmark reform is fading fast, if it hasn't passed already.

We cannot expect the corrupt to clean up their own act. Neither party wants reform because both parties benefit in their own way from the status quo.
Our only true option is to have a citizenry movement at the state level to force constitutional amendments to impose reform efforts. There is a way to do that, although it does require a lot of effort from a lot of people (nearly everyone, really), and it does come with a few risks attached. Still, it's the only way...
