Worse and Worse

Just as it looked like we might be turning a corner, the AP reports now that two giant oil tanks - each capable of holding some 2 million barrels - are leaking into the Mississippi River just down from New Orleans.

As if we needed more environmental and economic damage.

[Update: Just another awful report: a bus carrying New Orleans evacuees overturned on the highway; one person has dead, and others have been taken to hospitals. Ugh. -- 6:37 p.m.]
