DeLay Staff, Abramoff, and Corruption

The Associated Press is reporting today new details of ties between staff members working for indicted former House majority leader Tom DeLay, sleazeball uber-lobbyist Jack Abramoff (also indicted) and the Interior Department. The lead paragraph of the AP story: "Rep. Tom DeLay's staff tried to help lobbyist Jack Abramoff win access to Interior Secretary Gale Norton, an effort that succeeded after Abramoff's Indian tribe clients began funneling a quarter-million dollars to an environmental group founded by Norton."

As if we needed more evidence of malfeasance in the office of Tom DeLay.

Shameful, and ridiculous. The Republican Party must, must, must clean its house and sweep clean the elements of corruption that have dirtied our once-proud party. The time is now, before it's too late.
