Routine Review, eh?
I haven't posted yet about the eye-rollingly stupid (not to mention inappropriate) editing to a climate-change report performed by White House aide Philip Cooney, formerly a lobbyist for big oil. I did find it amusing though that just two days after Administration officials called the edits a perfectly normal part of the interagency vetting process, Cooney has resigned. The White House says the revelations about Cooney's edits and his resignation are unconnected.
Coincidence? You be the judge.

It's remarkable how abruptly the realization that family values trump career-advancing values tends to come to perfectly honorable people in government service.
It's also a little odd how often that realization tends to come just when they've started to get their names in the paper. A shame, really, these dutiful citizens leaving public service just when folks were starting to sit up and take notice of them..
