Abramoff Indicted

Uber-lobbyist/general sleazeball Jack Abramoff was indicted by a federal grand jury in Fort Lauderdale, FL this afternoon for his role in a "wide-ranging wire fraud case stemming from the purchase of a Florida casino cruise line from a businessman later murdered in Fort Lauderdale," the Associated Press reports. An arrest warrant was issued for Abramoff and the AP notes "federal agents were searching for him."

This investigation is unconnected to another federal grand jury probe in Washington examining Abramoff's role in bilking several Indian tribes out of fees paid to him for "lobbying expenses," a topic I've explored previously here.

There's much more on the Fort Lauderdale indictment in the AP piece. This is only the beginning of the great unraveling for this guy, I suspect.
