Goodbye, P.J.

Joe Gandelman has an excellent roundup of links and retrospectives on the life and career of Peter Jennings, who died last night at the age of 67 after a battle with lung cancer. I don't have much to add to Joe's comments, but will just say that as a member of the generation who grew up knowing only Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather and Peter Jennings, the departure of the final leg of that triumverate is a sad event for me. Jennings was always a journalist at heart, and he did his job as well as anyone could have. He'll be missed.

Here's a good Peter Jennings story . . . about 9/11. (Maybe Joe has it too, haven't been there yet.)
