Too Close for Comfort?

The Columbia Journalism Review has an interesting piece out comparing two profiles of Robert Novak: one from Amy Sullivan in the Washington Monthly back in December, and one from Sidney Blumenthal in Salon from yesterday. Looks like Blumenthal might have gotten a little 'liberal' in his use of Sullivan's material.

Tip to Wonkette for the CJR link.

Clearly my efforts to rid Charging RINO of the spambots has failed. Anybody got any words of wisdom on this?

I think Movable Type has some spambot guards. Maybe e-mail some bloggers and see what they use. The Comics Curmudgeon over at http://joshreads.com/ has visual verification for his comments.

I did some googling (googleing? what is the correct spelling?) about the spambots. A lot of these bots operate out of Blogger accounts, so limiting the comments won’t make much of a difference. The more tech savvy readers might know about some plug-ins but right now it looks like switching programs is your best bet.

Thanks for checking, A. I'll check around with some other Blogger users and with the Blogger techies, maybe they can devise some solution too.

Thanks Jerry - let me know if they offer any relief. And don't worry, I know you're not a bot!
