NYC Threat a Hoax

Reports out today indicate that the threat against New York's subway system made public last week was a hoax. The AP says that a "normally reliable informant" provided false intelligence this time.

I will not blame Mayor Bloomberg and City officials for taking this threat seriously and acting to increase security. Better safe than sorry. I'm glad nothing came of it, but I'm also glad it wasn't ignored.

[Update: Not a hoax after all? -- 9:19 a.m.]
